Something Different, Something SMUTTY
Imperfect creative actions anyone?✨
When someone sent this image in book club, my imagination revved up its engines.
According to this infographic from Instagram somewhere, my fantasy book is titled A Kingdom of Dungeons and Dreams.
Side note— our book club covers only the smuttiest of smut. Unfortunately, I am still reading A Court of Silver Flames, which is not a 10 on the spicy-o-meter.
Ok, back to my story.
I suggested we all write the first page of our romantasy book and share it in the group chat.
With no further ado, here is my summary:
Every night you dream you are in a dungeon. Every night you discover more and more about the dungeon until you find out it’s actually real.
And here’s my first page (or two):
A Kingdom of Dungeons and Dreams
There was nowhere to run.
No doors, no windows, no vents, no cracks.
Metal covered every inch of the circular room I found myself in.
A dome? Was I in a metal dome?
My screams echoed as I threw my hands over my ears.
I stood up from my cross-legged position in the center of the room. There was nowhere to go.
I looked up to find a little red dot in the middle of the curved ceiling. The only sign of color. Potentially, the only sign of life.
In the distance, an alarm screeched as if it was coming from another dimension.
“You’re finally here,” A voice teased from behind the metal walls.
I slammed myself into the wall I heard the voice coming from and screamed once again.
The alarm got louder.
“Where am I?” I whispered into the chrome-colored wall. “Where am I?” I said louder.
No response.
The alarm began to blare and suddenly I was back in my bedroom.
I kept my eyes shut, replaying everything that happened over and over until it was burned into my memory.
“It was just a dream,” I cooed into my blanket, my eyes still shut.
It was just a dream.
This post felt really good to write, but the longer I sat with it, the weirder I felt about it because
It’s not within the “Unearthing Through Song” theme
It feels really random
I never write fiction on here
The writing is super casual
…
But what is actually wrong with that?
I have been boxing myself in and limiting myself in so many ways, so it is time to readjust.
In the theme of readjusting, I have set New Year’s Intentions that don’t sound like “work out four times a day” and “run a marathon by February.”
My intentions this year are simple yet deep work (maybe not the trying new teas one, though).
Some of them include saying sorry less, taking imperfect creative action (this post is a primary example), and trying new teas.
In the heart of taking imperfect creative action, I am releasing an electronic, pop-y, dance-y song that I completely produced myself. I have never released a song that I made the beat for, only songs I mixed vocals for, so this is a big ol’ deal for me. Please pre-save if you feel like it!
Here’s a preview of it:
What kind of intentions are you setting for 2026? Do you even observe January 1st as the new year? LET ME KNOW xoxo

Okay, I need to join this book club and your first page and title already has me hooked!! So good. Can’t wait to see what this year brings. Here’s to moving forward more intentionally aligned with the creative juicy flow 🥰✨.. also, mine is “A Sorcerer of Trust and Dust” … doesn’t quite have the same ring to it 😅
